Veteran Affairs

According to the latest US census data, there are over 18.2 million veterans in the United States, 641,000 of which are in the state of Georgia alone. These are individuals who have dedicated their lives for serving the country and who deserve to be celebrated for their efforts once they are dispatched.
Unfortunately, life for many veterans isn’t as comfortable as it should be after they come back home. Chronic health issues developed during service, poor mental health, and loneliness are some of the biggest challenges they have to face, which makes caring for an elderly veteran more difficult than usual.

The US Department of Veteran Affairs helps veterans and their families cope with the financial struggles of home care through several insurance policies, which we accept here at FAITH MEDICAL SERVICES. If you’re worried that your loved one’s living standards aren’t satisfactory and you can’t be there for them all the time, we can help you with skilled home care services tailored to their needs. VA coverage is included in the insurances accepted, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to offer high standard home care services to a veteran relative.

Is your loved one eligible for VA coverage?

All US veterans who meet the clinical criteria and are eligible for community care can benefit from VA coverage on home health aide care and skilled home health care.
For more information, you can get in touch with your local VA social worker and complete the Application for Extended Care Benefits to find out about the amount of your copay in Georgia.

What services can we offer to senior veterans?

Our home care services are tailored to each individual, depending on their existing health conditions and personal needs. FAITH MEDICAL SERVICES can help you in two important service areas:

  • Home health aide care: your loved one doesn’t need constant medical assistance, but they need help with daily home activities. One of our licensed caregivers can come to their house at established intervals and help them with grocery shopping, cooking meals, getting dressed, and grooming.
  • Skilled home nursing care: your loved one has a certain health condition or disability that requires them to receive professional nursing care at home. In this case, our caregivers can come to their home as often as needed and offer them nursing care (wound care, catheter care, etc.), physical and occupational therapy, IV antibiotics, and illness management in general.

If you’re not sure which type of service your loved one needs, feel free to contact us, and we’ll help you understand their personal, health, and financial requirements, so that you can make the right decision.
